No New Ideas

Is it me or is Hollywood not doing a very good job of coming up with new material? "Bewitched", "Herbie", "Batman", "Dukes of Hazzard" and so on. I know I'm getting older, and I know that what was once old becomes new again, but this is really ridiculous. I'm sure that there a many screenwriters out there with great stories that are waiting to be told, but no one is making their movies. Why do we need remakes of "The War of the Worlds" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (i.e. Willy Wonka). If I don't already have these movies in my DVD collection I can go rent the originals. I would rather have my kids see Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka than a freaky ass Johnny Depp.

C'mon lets stop copying others work and make some new movies!!
